LCD Mic Flag Part XIV

Well got the power connector installed along with the internal filter and jack…

Im hopping with the brass plates and all the other items will shield it enough.

This is how it looks on the back… Will include a right angle adapter in the kit…

And the video for powered up using the cable and the main power filter… Should be about 10 to 12 feet total power cable…

NOTE: Blue tape is to protect the finish… Will start the poly stuff later today or on Monday…

LCD Mic Flag Part XIII

At about 5:02 PM Cabinet for the LMF was completed. There is some other items but the big nightmare is done. ^_^

Here is the bolt holes being put in….

Rotation of empty case…

And with drive electronic reinstalled and running…

Need to get the power connector installed with the Pi filter inside. and the mount ear for the Universal Mile Bracket. But thats it! ^_^

Current weight is about 114 grams or 4.0oz…. Yipe! O_O Which means total weight should be around 7.25 to 8.0 oz for counter weight/bracket/LMF. May try doing an aircraft trick of shaving out areas to reduce weight. But this is built like a tank!

If I can send the final kit to Premiere and then ask them to send it on and send me a bill to do that 2nd half can get it up and keep address secret. ^_^

LCD Mic Flag Part XI

A bunch of small details during a lot of client work…

Decided to go with small brass brackets to hold the LCD panel in place…

Did one other test. No pix but interesting… The wood case weight’s around 1.7 oz / 49 grams… Not bad… Will be a smidgen more… Desired to flatten the from on detail.

And was finally able to run some test I needed to get done.. And turn out well… ^_^

LCD Mic Flag Part X

Decided needed some power to finish this. And got this little jewel! ^_^ Instead of about 10 minutes using a small hobby miter box and saw. Its does it 5 seconds and a much better cut! ^_^ Even does metal very well.

After this project. I have an idea to convert it into a micro radial saw! ^_^ All for about 26 dollars!

LCD Mic Flag Part IX

Well got the reshot pictures done and also pop the LMF out of drydock… AKA got the last panel cut’s done and in in place! ^_^

Under all of that is the Mike Flag.

After removing the weights to hold it down and to force the side to be strait…

Made a test panel for the front. May not have any trim or go with brass around the edge. But planing on keeping it very simple. Its a composition of .005 thickness brass with single sided sticky foam… Hey had to keep the reflectivity down as far as I could go! ^_^ Along with the weight.

Here a slightly better shot… Note the electronic have been removed so I can finish up the front panel.

Found some tubing so if needed could make some bolt post. Can thread them if I need to make it…

Have tested and will use three coast of poly varnish with all three coats hand rubbed in… Still protects the wood. Darkens it just a touch. But has low reflectivity.

Need a bit of a rest for the weeks fun and since I have a civic thing locally to do this evening. Wont be able to get back on this until way late tonight. If all goes well. Should be able to get the front, back support done by late tomorrow. As soon as thats done can weight it and finish the counter balance/ media storage section…

As usual… More pictures… ^_^ Click here…

LCD Mic Flag Part VIII

Huston… We have a problem! O_O

Need to reshoot tonights picture… Due to the SD cart going totally south.. As in nothing is there. Even to the recovery software I have… Can reshoot and have copies of the rest that was on the cart. Will do that tomorrow morning. That carts been acting a bit strange.

On to the fun. Mr JB reputation is fully intact. The power switch is locked solid in place from last night!

Did get the slot cut for the switch and looks ok. Even got the correct brass tubing so I can make some blind nuts to finish it. Even got the final side got stuck down and waiting right now for it to cure a bit longer…

Going to do a mass push on this this weekend but have some civic duty coming up tomorrow night. Add in an emergency to see if I can put enough pieces to get a working system for a client. So going to be a tough weekend…
